Materials and Technique
The print is produced as a museum-quality giclée in two equally considered forms: on 300 g/m² fine art paper and on canvas.
Giclée is a high-quality inkjet process employing archival pigment inks. On paper it delivers exceptional colour accuracy, the finest detail and a crystalline surface. On canvas the same pigments settle into the weave, quietly echoing the presence and depth of the original painting. Both versions are made to last for decades.
I offer several carefully chosen sizes. Custom formats are always possible — simply reach out through the Contacts section.
Look at her. No — look properly, the way one looks when trying to recall a beautiful dream: slowly, uncertain of the edges, afraid that moving too quickly will make it dissolve.
She has closed her eyes. This is not sleep. Sleep is careless, and there is nothing careless here — every fold of light on her skin has been placed by the forest as if by a hand that knew exactly what it was doing. The leaves above her are not decoration; they are witnesses. Water repeats her outline back to her, patiently, the way a confessor repeats your own words to make you finally hear them.
And here is the question the painting will not let you avoid: what remains of a person when nothing is required of her? No gesture to perform. No one to please. Only olive light, and the slow admission that this — this stillness, this un-doing — might be the truest thing she has ever shown anyone.
There is a theatre to it, yes — the deliberate arrangement of limb and shadow, the sense that even solitude has been staged with care. The soul, when finally left alone, does not disintegrate. It composes itself. It becomes, briefly, whole.
This is not a woman resting in a forest. It is a soul that has stopped performing and, in stopping, has become impossible to look away from.
The limited edition is offered in two equally considered forms: on fine art paper, where the light remains patient and precise, and on canvas, whose weave quietly holds the olive shade and the presence of the original painting. Both carry the same unhurried stillness, the same question that asks nothing.
For the collector who understands that mysticism is not spectacle but attention — who wants a room to hold one image capable of slowing a whole evening down — this print asks for exactly that kind of wall: quiet, a little dim, and unhurried.
